*Downfall is a Video Game Masters project done by 18 students in total of which,14 students from the Institute of Internet and Multimedia, Paris, who are specializing in a variety of majors covering programming, art, production & marketing and game design. And, 4 sound designers and composers from the Audio Workshop School and the “Conservatoire Royal de Mons” school. This production was accompanied by a variety of specialised industry professionals, who got to share their knowledge and guide the process of creation from the beginning of conception to the final result released in June 2022.

Design Intentions

In this project we intended to experiment and explore by creating an ambitious 3C oriented gameplay that allows us to push it’s Juiciness and Game Feel and provide a pleasant experience to the user without resorting to systemic design.

Design Process

When it came to designing the character, throughout the process we’ve prioritised our systems in a way that allowed us to test various options at first, then cut out the features that didn’t not fit out intentions. This process allowed us to narrow down our game experience to the minimum required to fulfil the game loop.

3C

Naya is a bestial creature with refined capabilities of fast movement, which includes, running both on the ground and on walls, jumping, flying and landing. She roams the dangerous environment with ease and precision by controlling her movements and avoiding dangerous regions and crashing.
